Alliance for Inclusive Education - young disabled people

The Alliance for Inclusive Education is a UK-based national network led by disabled people and supported by allies that include parents, educators and Head Teachers. The Alliance has campaigned successfully, over the last 15 years, to remove the legal conditions which have served to limit the rights of disabled learners and those with Special Educational Needs to secure a supported mainstream placement. The Alliance has also been very influential in bringing education into the remit of the UK Disability Discrimination Act, strengthening the right of disabled young people to protection from discrimination within the education system.
