UKDPC
Campaigning and networking
UKDPC is a unique umbrella organisation with a twenty six year history of the worldwide Disabled People's Movement. The organisation was set up in 1981 by disabled people to promote disabled people’s full equality and participation in UK society, and the organisation now represents 95 groups run by disabled people in the UK at national level. Between them the member groups have a total membership of around 350,000 disabled people. UKDPC offers all disabled people in the UK the chance to get involved directly in working together to change society, as full associate, affiliate, supporting and individual members, through campaigning, promotion of disability rights and supporting the social model of disability.
