Charitable incorporated organisation model will be available next year, Nick Hurd says

Quoting news article from thirdsector online Nick Hurd Minister for Civil Society says legislation to activate the new legal form for charities (Charitable incorporated organisation) will be tabled early in 2011

The charitable incorporated organisation, a new legal form for charities that was created by the 2006 Charities Act, will come into force early next year, according to Nick Hurd, the Minister for Civil Society.

Answering a written parliamentary question, he said secondary legislation to bring CIOs into force would be put before Parliament "with a view to the first charitable incorporated organisations being established from spring 2011."
